Harts Leap Hospital
Harts Leap is an independent hospital, which specialises in the treatment and rehabilitation of patients with enduring mental illness and the care of elderly people who have complex mental health needs and dementia’s. Harts Leap is dedicated to providing an open, homely environment within a safe setting.The hospital is divided into 3 wards, namely The Connaught, The Wellington and The Windsor.
Treatment and rehabilitation programmes will aim to maximise functioning and enhance the quality of life for our patients, with a desired outcome of supporting patients through to discharge.
Individual treatment programmes are created for each patient to ensure that a range of assessments, treatments and services are available and adapted to meet their differing needs.
Wherever possible the patient will have the maximum input to his or her own treatment programme. The programmes are monitored regularly to ensure that the appropriate social, psychological and physical care is provided in accordance with assessed needs. Formal CPA reviews take place every six months, or more frequently if demand necessary deemed. Specialised therapeutic programmes are being developed at Harts Leap and will be in accordance with the needs of the patient group.
At Harts Leap we believe it is important to give patients as much opportunity as possible for social interaction within a safe, supervised environment. Work is currently in progress to ensure the facilities provide the necessary space and resources to meet these needs.
We are a quality-accredited organisation and work within the guidelines set by the National Service Framework and the National Minimum Care Standards to provide a quality service to our clients and their respective purchasers. The hospital is located in a residential area in the town of Sandhurst in Berkshire. It is easily accessible form the M4, M3 and M25 motorway networks and has good public transport links, both rail and road.
