Wellington Ward
Located in the original building and recently refurbished throughout, the Wellington Ward provides dedicated personal and communal living space. There is ramped access to the garden, decking area and conservatory. The newly refurbished and redecorated lounge and dining areas are comfortable and spacious with the emphasis on creating a homely and safe environment for older patients with age related mental health problems which may be further compounded with physical disabilities.
A structured activity programme provides opportunity for social and recreational interaction and community integration. A vehicle with wheelchair access allows the opportunity fo routings and good access to the local community with whom we have strong links.
PATIENT PROFILE
The Wellington Ward accepts elderly men & women who:
- Have a primary diagnosis of mental illness
- Are suffering from dementia with associated behaviour problem
- Would benefit from a safe, supportive environment and programme of therapeutic activities
- Are detained under the Mental Health Act 1983
- May have a forensic history
- Have age-related physical needs
