Windsor Ward
The Windsor Ward provides semi-independent suites incorporating en-suite bedroom and kitchenette facilities.
These suites were conceived through the desire to promote effective mental health rehabilitation services within an appropriate environment.
They provide a 'step down' facility within the safe environment of the hospital, where patients are able to receive the appropriate levels of care and support via their treatment programme, whilst facilitating a greater level of independence and enhancing daily living skills.
These suites provide a clear link between the hospital environment and the wider community.
Patients within these suites will benefit from the same resources and facilities that are shared throughout the building thus creating independence combined with integration.
Emphasis is on providing a range of therapeutic activities, which will enhance social skills, promote independence and facilitate community integration through participation in occupational, educational and recreational opportunities. Individualised needs-led therapeutic programmes are developed and delivered by the multi-disciplinary team.
